Launch of New Anthology of Poetry by Migrant Poets

Embers of Words is the first anthology of migrant poetry produced by the Migrant Writers and Performing Artists in Ireland. Sixteen migrant poets from different backgrounds capture many themes, such as the exilic condition, migration, the journey of self -discovery, love, oppression, the demand of double identity, conflict and violence.

Contributors to the anthology come from various national and ethnic backgrounds, and they include: Russian, Nigerian, Indian, Italian, Irish British, Congolese, Polish, Malaysian, Zimbabwean, Indian and Iraqi among others.

The Anthology will be Launched by Mr Ray Yeates, Dublin City Arts Officer at The Irish Writers Centre ans presented to President Michael D Higging at Áras an Uachtaráin on 13 December 2012.
