Public consultation process for a National Framework Policy for Local and Community Development

To All stakeholders:

A public consultation process for a national framework policy for local and community development (draft attached) was commenced today by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.  Advertisements have been placed in national newspapers and a copy of the draft framework policy is also available on the Department’s website at Draft framework policy (pdf, kb). 

The public consultation process will close at 5pm on Friday 10 April, 2015.

 

All key stakeholder organisations are invited to make a written submission setting out their views and comments on the draft policy to assist completion of the policy. For the DRAFT Policy click here

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Friday 10 April, 2015. In the interests of transparency, all submissions received (including the name of the person making the submission but not their contact details) will be made available online on the Department’s website (all submissions received) and will be subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. The onus is on persons making submissions not to include material of a private nature in the body of their submission.
